There's just you and me,
no one else will know
or understand
that which has passed between us.
This rare thing, this special thing,
our struggle to define an emptiness
that crept into our lives has died,
slain by the power of love;
this special thing which has shaped us
and brought us back together.
No one else can know
the lonely nights filled with missing;
looking up at the moon
when you saw it too...
Our lives moving on, the river flowing
ever faster,
our paths getting closer
and our joy being made complete
in its fullness.
